Often when you least expect it…something happens that either validates your current state of mind or make you change it.

As many of my friends and family know, I’ve been newly “singled out.” I went through a tumultuous path of enlightenment. Believe me it was not your run of the mill stages of loss kind of thing I literally went through a 180-degree turn in faith and perspective.

I’ve recently adopted the mindset that I’m just going to relax and let God write my love story. No more active pursuit of that next wonderful romance. I’m letting fate take a hand at that particular section of my life and let’s hope that I would be wonderfully surprised.

Then fate gave me a message…

While savoring a cup of brewed coffee and munching on my favorite ham and cheese croissant, I happened by an entire section of the Inquirer on no less than Summer Loving. Stories of love discovered serendipitously, of strangers who found each other and eventually tied the knot. These people didn’t look for love…it found them.

So…fine…I get it now. You don’t really need to bust an artery to find love because it finds you. Rocket science? Not exactly…more of Juan Tamad finds love while sleeping under a mango tree. But is that really possible? There’s a saying that goes “God helps those who help themselves.” But what if you’ve been out there, done that, met people and even had a couple of long term relationships that fizzles out eventually, does that mean you’re just not helping yourself enough? Or is it time to surrender it all to fate?

When is helping yourself really helping your cause?

For some it works to go party every night or frequent internet hook up sites but for someone like me who doesn’t have the patience nor the inclination to do “EB’s” or talk to strangers then doing those things aren’t appealing in the first place. So, where does that leave people like me? Yes, I guess we’re back to the concept of serendipity. Fate will take a hand at one point or another…maybe once she sees you’re struggling too much and you now look like fish out of water. Pathetic? Nah…just in need of some divine intervention.

Besides, isn’t it way better to be surprised with something so beautiful as finding your one true love without trying too hard or hurting other people than plotting your way through the process? It’s better to be blessed with it than forcing the issue with tears along the way.

This time I’m letting fate take a hand…let’s see what she has in store for me. Happiness is just around the corner…I could almost feel it. So here’s to the hope that sitting underneath a mango tree on a balmy night would bring a good dose of love our way.

busy, busy..

natapos na yung regular classes nung march22 (tuesday) pero grabe nagsisimula pa lang ang mga exams and other requirements to pass.. kakatapos lang ng 3rd long exam (pamatay sa haba!) namin sa stat101 kanina and then mamaya ipa-pass na namin ni dona yung take home 2nd long exam sa anthro10.. sa monday finals sa stat101 and ipa-pass na yung HACCP (ang trabaho nya rin pala!) sa FS105.. after nun may paper pa ko sa HRIM102 and sa CWTS (grr..).. naiinis ako sa CWTS na yan, panu naman ngaun lang sinabi nung magaling naming prof. na may paper pala.! iba pa yung group written report sa individual paper ah.. tapos 5 pages pa gusto niya?? mas nakakainis kasi sa isang semester kong under sa kanya, one time lang siya nag-class tapos ngayong patapos na tska siya maghahabol ng mga work??!!! haay.. :P i hate papers talaga!

anyway, anu pa ba?? hmm.. excited na ko sa CTS! sa march30-31 ata siya gaganapin and this time nandun na ako as a sharper and not as an applicant.. mas mae-enjoy ko na siya :) hehe. exciting pa kasi yung mga applicant this semester ay mga blockmates ko and close friends.. sina sherry, kite, shine etc.. can't wait!

my weird dream

they say eating too much before sleeping actually causes nightmares.. i've never really believed it until last night. actually, hindi naman 'nightmare' yung dream ko.. masaya nga siya if you think about it eh. kaya lang, ewan ko ba.. weird eh! napanaginipan ko c Kal El (yup,may code name na rin ako finally). weird kasi i was not even thinking about him before sleeping.. mas may iba pa akong pinoproblema bago matulog pero napanaginipan ko pa rin??!! sa dream ko kasama ko siya sa school.. ewan ko kung anung school yun (kung college or high school) or anung subject. parang the whole day ko ata siyang kasama sa school for some reason.. nasa classroom kami pero parang wala namang teacher or teaching na nagaganap. we were just talking the whole time.. ang sama nga eh at nde ko na maalala pinag-usapan namin.. eh di sana may natutunan pa ko. :P hehe. oh well..

hotel weekend na namin bukas. yey! pinaka-hate ko lang ginagawa sa mga ganyan eh yung packing the night before.. kakatamad eh! sa Astoria nga pala kami, yun ata yung hotel na pinagtuluyan ng scq cast nun eh..lol. siyempre dun lang siya familiar sakin! :) sana hindi na ako antukin sa gabi para ma-maximize yung time sa hotel..lol. grabe kasi si dona last year, halos hindi kami patulugin ni aisa! mga 3am na rin nga kami nahiga para matulog tapos hindi pa rin kami tinitigilan! hindi daw kasi siya makatulog ang everything.. tapos the next day siya pa rin yung gumising samin.. parang hindi ata natulog kasi gusto pang mag-explore sa oakwood. sana ganun din yung energy ko 2m. pero i think malabo yun kasi the past few days super sandali lang tulog ko eh.. usually mga 1am na ko natutulog.. kulang sakin yun! :) basta isa lang sure ako, super dami na naman naming kakainin!! haha. buffet kasi yung afternoon snack, dinner and breakfast.. yum!

finally natuloy na rin yung choco buffet nung weds (march8).. grabeh! kapagod talaga siya pero ang saya(!!!) nung natapos na.. i think lahat naman ng guests natuwa sa food namin and sa service.. ang guest ko? ang mahal kong kuya and his lovely girlfriend, ate kria. sobrang nabusog daw kuya ko (haha. akala pa niya before hindi siya mabubusog!) sa dinner pa lang.. tapos yung iba ngang chocolate dish hindi na nya natikman.. in fairness, ang dami din naming nakain after. yup, hindi din talaga naubos yung food. actually nauwian ko pa sina mom, dad and voltaire ng cream puffs eh. :) ang hirap ng house keeping!!!!!! imagine, from 4pm (tapos ng class namin) until 11pm naghuhugas kami ng plates??!! nag-break lang nung nag-dinner kami sandali. natutuwa ako kasi kami ni aisa yung nagprepare nung banana crepe filling.. medyo matapang lang daw tlaga yung alcohol pero masarap. :)

wala na akong ibang ginagawa this past few days kundi bumalik sa UH at mag-work.. haay.. 56 hours, kelan ka ba matatapos??!!

choco buffet

sa march8, Wednesday na..

sorry! nagkaka-problema kasi sa mga sponsors eh.. tapos na-cancel pa yung classes, mas hindi tuloy maasikaso. kahit ako disappointed kasi i was really looking forward to it.. oh well. sana pumunta pa rin kayo! :)

nakakatawa lang isipin na wala talagang natupad sa lahat ng mga plano ko ('things to look forward to' entry)..

parang lahat na-resched eh! lol.

ang natupad lang? yung elevate '06 kahapon..

it was fun, pero tama nga sila steph, mas masaya yung last year..

sana medyo pinaikli na lang yung ibang parts

para mas lively yung show..

pero super benta talaga yung later parts eh!

katuwa din siyempre yung UP vs USTe part.. :) galing ng mga hirit eh!

2m na pala simula nung affliation namin sa university hotel.. god, tama bang first shift namin ay from 2 to 10pm??? gulat ako nung sinabi nung girl sakin kaninang umaga yung sched ko eh.. hindi naman ako makatanggi kasi parang kakahiya naman, 1st assignment rereklamo pa ko.. hehe. yung pag-uwi lang naman talaga yung problema ko dun eh, pero dahil i have such great friends, solve na yun. susunduin kasi c dona (buti same sched kami) ni some1 (hmm.. lol), tapos dadaan na daw nila ko dito.. good thing i live within UP, para hindi hassle sa paghahatid.

anyway, nanonood kami ng 'beautiful boxer' sa anthro10 namin.. promise, ang ganda. nakakatawa talaga siya but still ang dami pa ring matutunan.. galing nga eh. 2m namin ico-continue ang panonood kasi naputol last thursday, (tapos wala pang class nung monday) kaya nga excited na ko for 2m eh. :)

nag-attend kami ng mass kanina nila dona, aisa and jp.. ash wednesday pala kasi ngayon. dami ko ring natutunan..

nakakatamad i-explain now kasi ang haba na pala ng entry ko, pero sobrang gumaan talaga ang feeling ko after.. na-realize ko din na ang tagal ko ng nde nagsisimba.. bad noh? i never forget to pray and all, but i guess iba pa rin yung nasa mismong church ka. iba lang talaga yung feeling after.. :) happy! muwah!
